First, make sure you have all the right information for your creator! Enter all their information into WorkingLit so they can get paid for every project they’re a part of.

Add their book into WorkingLit. Make sure you add an ISBN, a title, and a price.

Compensation might take any number of forms, depending on whether the product is a zine, sticker, paperback, or something else entirely. Typically, you probably have two parts to creator compensation in a contract: an advance and royalty payments.

Add a new royalty in WorkingLit, then select your Creator and Product(s). This is where you can add your tiered royalties, along with any royalty tiers that depend on discounts.

Have an advance to enter? Easy. Add a new payment. Select your Creator and Royalty. Then add the financial info: how much you paid them, the method of payment, and the date.

Record orders and expenses individually or upload in bulk at your convenience. It’s up to you!

Add a New Statement and choose your royalty period, Creator, and Product(s).

This royalty statement will reflect the Creator’s proceeds during your custom time period for any products you’ve chosen.

Automatically send your Creator a statement email, which includes their royalty details and definitions of terms used. Add a personalized message, paste in your author newsletter like Microcosm does, or include any other custom content in the notes section.
