Reporting Comes to the WorkingLit App

I love numbers and watching data. Nothing beats a good set of stats. And for any business owner, there’s nothing better than a good set of data about your business to help you make decisions. At my last company, we used the expression “That which is measured, improves.” I stand by that – to understand your data is to know exactly how to improve. That’s why we built the new WorkingLit Reporting section.

In our all-new Reporting tools we bring together all of your data in products, orders, expenses, and royalties so you can get a clear sense of your business. Want to see your top products and what their Profit & Loss statement was last quarter? Or get a sense of revenue versus expenses over time? We have you covered.

Here’s a full view of the Profit & Loss overview screen.

The days of complicated spreadsheets and napkin math are over. And it’s dead portable – just like with every other area of our site, we believe your data should be easily accessible. Export reports as PDF files or spreadsheets.

Currently, you can choose between three reporting screens: Profit & Loss, Profit & Loss by Product, and a rundown of Top Products. And of course, you can adjust the time period to a number of presets or a custom date range.

We are launching it in beta and just getting started—please let us know what you think or if you have a special stat you’d like added.

At the bottom of the Profit & Loss screen, take a look at your general financial health with Financial Summary—downloadable and printable, of course.
In the Profit & Loss by Product section, drill down to see exactly how individual products in your catalog are affecting your bottom line.
